SWAG, Boston Pride Parade

Boston Pride Parade originated in 1971, emerging just two years after the Stonewall Riots in New York City. As a child, I attended the parade with my father, his boyfriend and friends, forging early connections to a vibrant community that deeply cares for each other. This project serves as a record of the SWAG distributed at the parade, reflecting the increasingly visible and diverse demographics within the LGBTQ+ community. Under the microscope the political and racial/class boundaries that communities navigate and the LGBTQ+ constituents influence on the life of the city. Medical imagery-like, a focus on corporate ties to Pride Parade and gentrification.
